Net neutrality- most of us have heard the phrase spoken, but do we really understand what it means?

In short, big companies like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast are sending hundreds of lobbyists to Washington to convince congress to vote AGAINST net neutrality.

Why does this effect you?

Without net neutrality, those huge corporations will control the speed of how they want content distributed on the internet. They would favor their own publications and those websites who are willing and can pay out a huge lump sum of money to make their websites faster. For everyone else, your blog, your business pages, the place you go to surf the internet, will load at a snail's pace. Basically, if you're old enough to remember- it will be like waiting for your dial-up AOL to load, that hour long download of a single song off of Napster.

Why should you care?

The internet should be open and free. It has been the bridge to so many communities around the world. It has exposed global issues. It connects all users. Americans need to speak up. Head to this page on Google, and TAKE ACTION.

Want to know something else- Google, Facebook, and other powerful websites are FOR net neutrality. These internet super powers, who can provide the ransoms of internet providers, don't want this either.
